The recommended dose is of 150 mg daily for a period of 3 days and then 150 mg taken twice a day. You should start using Zyban one week before quitting smoking. If several doses per day should be taken, they must be administered at an interval of at least eight hours. It is very important that the tablets be swallowed as a whole. It is important to take this medication on a regular schedule as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If you take it within eight hours before the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Never take two doses at the same time in order to make up for a missed one.

The following side effects may go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. Please consult your doctor if they persist or become irritating: increased sweating, dry mouth, constipation, abdominal pains, dizziness, insomnia, nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, tremors, altered sense of taste, frequent urination, muscle pain, sore throat, sensation of rapid or irregular heartbeat, drowsiness, blurred vision. Consult your doctor immediately if one of the following side effects occurs : restlessness, anxiety, rash, hives or itching, headache, ringing or buzzing in the ears, confusion, seizures, fainting, hallucinations, difficulty concentrating.
